Leave - Shortwave Fade "Be aware of this band...they are going to conquer the music scene!" - Eardrums Music Fifteen years of hard work is how I'd describe Shortwave Fade. These grafters from Leicester in the East Midlands of England have just released their debut single 'Leave' on ITunes.

Shortwave Fade are tipped by many top music industry professionals to be the next big thing. If their latest single is anything to go by, they'll be kicking their way up the download chart in no time at all. Band members Chris Holloway and Ben Allen first met at school and shared an interest in making music. Later Robb Shepherd and Rich Herrington joined and added a further layer of depth to the band.

They've been around for a while too, and supporting bands like Keane on tour shows they're no small biscuits. Shortwave Fade's singer/guitarist Chris Holloway described them as 'an Indie-Electronica band from Leicester, influenced by Soulwax and Radiohead' on Steve Lamacq's BBC Radio 6 'Unsigned Bands'. Lamacq went on to play Shortwave Fade's debut single 'Leave' on air, giving the band that extra plug they needed only days before the single's launch. And the band are not alone, they've got the help of Gavin Monaghan who produced both The Editors and The Twang. Their latest single 'Leave', is a haunting combination of indie lyrics and electronica wizardry. An attacking beat, combined with Holloway's soulful lyrics gives the song an edgy quality that never allows the listener to get fully comfortable.

Always full of surprises, Leave has the pumping energy, eerie sounds and catchy lyrics that turn an unsigned band into class act. Shortwave Fade took part in a competition to win £15,000 to produce their album. They trounced the other bands to steal the prize and set about producing their album Deletia, due for release in early 2009. Shortwave Fade is having a single (and album pre-launch) party at the Notting Hill Arts Club in London on September 13th. They're also touring, check out their MySpace to get gig dates.
